SXSW 2022
We launched Blockchain Creative Labs, FOX Entertainment’s web3 studio, at SXSW 2022, merging the worlds of traditional and web3 fandom. Taking over downtown Austin, we designed a multi-experience crypto art lab and hosted a series of web3 interactive installations, events, and parties. We invited festival-goers to create, innovate and interact with nfts, blockchain, and the metaverse with Blockchain Creative Labs. Artist performances included 3LAU, Run DMC, and many more.

The SXSW x BCL NFT Ledger is an immersive installation and visualization of real-time blockchain data at SXSW. The events and moments captured by the Ledger installation were live throughout the entirety of SXSW. The Ledger represented the first ever blockchain time capsule created at a festival.

Record Blocks is an audiovisual NFT experience that brings music discovery to web3. Visitors discover emerging SXSW artists by listening to new songs while watching audioreactive NFTs of those songs generate. Listeners were rewarded with the NFT for free at the end of each song through a QR code.
Using the new model of listen-to-earn, Record Blocks paves the way to the future of music in Web3.

The NFT Gallery celebrates a series of diverse new NFT art and entertainment collections by day and experimental DJ parties by night. From WWE, Dolly Parton, Rev Run, to 3Lau, up-and-coming musicians to world premiere films, surprise creators and artists, this is the larger-than-life future of Web3 you’ve been waiting for.

The Web3 Exchange is a physical community space where the decentralized exchange of ideas between the best and brightest of Web3 happen. The Exchange featured over 50 speakers from the crypto and art community in daily panels, fireside chats, discussions, and debates.
